Dr. Madeline Nicole Washington was born the youngest daughter of Dr. Romanuel Washington,
Jr and the late Mrs. Bertha Bibbs Washington, on September 4, 1971. She is a native of Houston Texas, where she attended school in the Houston Independent School District and graduated in the top five (5) percent of her class from James Madison High School. Before graduating highschool, Dr. Washington was a Texas Certified Massage Therapist and in December of 1996, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College. She now practices along side her father, Dr. Romanuel Washington, also a Doctor of Chiropractic as well as an ordained minister.
Dr. Washington credits her success to knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and being reared up and brought up in the fear and knowledge of the Lord by her parents, who were always extremely supportive. She maintains that they are the "Wind Beneath Her Wings". Her favorite Bible verse: "I can do all things throught Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13
Dr Romanuel Washington , Jr. was born in Normangee, Texas on September 17, 1926. He is the oldest of 5 children. He was married to the late Mrs. Bertha Bibbs Washington for over forty years. He is the proud father of seven daughters , the grandfather of seventeen and the great grandfather of three.
Dr. Washington served in the US Army. He graduated wih honors (Cum Laude) from International Chiropractic College in Dayton, Ohio. He returned to Texas and was the first Black to be licensed under the present law in Texas.
Dr. Washington's career spans almost sixty years and now at the young age of 83, still practices. When asked why he has not retired yet, his reply is, "I promised the Lord that as long as He blessed me with my health and my strength that I would help people through this profession that He has given me. God has kept his side of the bargain and I must keep my end by continuing to practice!" He practices alongside daughter, Dr. Madeline Washington at the Chiropractic Arts & Science Clinic, 3300 Crawford. He has received more honors than we can name at this time.
